Infertility Treatment Center.
Infertility is the inability to conceive. It may be a problem with
the woman’s fertility or the man’s, or a combination of
both factors.
In either partner, infertility – or sub fertility –
may be due to chronic illness, disturbances in hormones (especially
in women), poor diet, excess weight, physical or emotional stress,
or exposure to radiation or heavy metals. Among other causes, sub
fertility
in women may be due to blocked tubes, failure to ovulate, too little
progesterone, problems with cervical mucus, and abnormalities of
the womb, or endometriosis. A woman may develop antibodies to her
partner’s sperm, and so become “immune” to conception.
Previous forms of contraception such as the Pill or IUDs may have
an impact. It may also be the result of pelvic inflammatory disease.
In men it may be due to the low production of sperm, weak or slow
moving sperm, an obstruction in the seminal tract, inability to
ejaculate, premature ejaculation, testicular trauma, atrophy of
the testes, undescended testes, or other congenital problems within
the reproductive system. Inadequate sperm production can be a side
effect of illness such as chronic infection of the prostate or mumps,
or drugs (particularly chronic use of marijuana). Men should not
confuse
sperm with semen, or
infertility with virility.
Finding the exact cause of infertility (there is often a combination
of factors) can be a long and complicated process, so patience and
perseverance is necessary, as well as expert guidance. Mediscapes
is able to offer you access to some of the best fertility specialists
in their field and cost effective
IVF treatment within a new private
clinic, with state of the art equipment and internationally recognized
surgeons.
